The most breathtakingly beautiful of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is reason enough to pack your bags
to Agra. For most people, Agra (or for that matter, India) is synonymous with Taj, and vice versa. Some tourists do Agra in a day -
early morning train/car from Delhi and back in the night. But we do NOT advice you to do that.
India's top tourist attraction overshadows Agra's other equally magnificent and incredibly well-preserved monuments. Fatehpur Sikri, Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daulah... will all transport you back to the grandeur of the Mughal era. Interestingly, Braj Bhoomi, so very sacred to the Hindus, is just an hour away. So is the tranquil Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.
It is for these very reasons that together with Jaipur (240 kms.) and Delhi (198 kms.), Agra forms the Golden Triangle of Tourism in India.
