A British cantonment for many years, Agra it still an important military base. This not so well known character of the city is evident in this strikingly clean, peaceful and green zone. Huge plots with old style bungalows and spacious gardens characterize this area.
The main road running through this zone is called The Mall, and the commercial centre is Sadar Bazaar - a modern market and the trendiest in Agra. There are many restaurants, a few as garden restaurants. One of the nice things about staying in this zone is its close proximity to Agra Cantonment Railway Station (west of the region shown in the above map), one of India's busiest railway stations.
The Taj Mahal is not quite far away, and Taj walking trails are easily accessible from here. Agra Golf course is also in the vicinity.
